Motorola Moto G users complain about lost connection and SIM card problems after 4.4.2 KitKat update

Last month, Motorola released the 4.4.2 KitKat update for Moto G users in India, but barely a week after updating their devices users started complaining about issues, which BGR India reported soon after the update went live. Majority of the users complained about an issue with the SIM card slot. It seems, this incident is not isolated and users around the world are facing similar issues.

A user started a post on Motorola’s forum and listed a host of problems he faced after updating the Moto G to 4.4.2 KitKat. In addition to the Moto G not detecting a SIM card, users also complained about dropped calls, loss in connection, popup errors, and errors relating to Airplane mode. The same has now been reported by many others in multiple countries. It is not isolated to the dual-SIM version that is available in India. Some users are also facing problems with the USB OTG feature getting disabled while others are getting an error when they switch on the camera.
The exact cause of these problems hasn’t yet been confirmed though a Motorola representative on the thread has confirmed the company is looking into it. Do let us know if you have been facing issues with your Moto G after updating it, in the comments section below.

MOTO G BATTERY CHARGING ISSUE

Hi forum. I looked up on the internet for a solution to my problem but to no avail. So now i am posting it here.
I got my moto G a few days back. A 500 ma motorola charger was given with it. Phone is upgraded to kitkat.
The problem is that my phone charges to 100% but never shows any sign of a fully charged battery and the charging bolt on battery doesn't go away. I've waited for an hour but nothing showed up. In options>battery it says charging. But when i turn off the phone while charging it shows a tick mark indicating a fully charged battery. Otherwise, the phone is fine and i dont have any other battery related issues.
What might be the problem? Is the phone overcharging while it's at 100%? Would a factory restore fix the issue? Thanks...

Moto G: Antenna position - signal issues when holding phone

I am having problems with phone signal. I checked O2 coverage checker I am in a good zone.

At the moment I am connected to WiFi and the mobile signal is at 2 bars. However, as soon as I put down my phone I get full bars. But as soon as I pick up my phone it drops. I usually hold my phone with 2 hands (typing position)

However, when I enable mobile data my mobile bars go up to 3 and get 5mbps download.

Could it be because its relying on WiFi ?

Would a hard case help with the signal? I am thinking of buying of a Ronnie slim case for the motog.
